Things to do in Singapore

14 April 2018

Singapore is a city-state and one of the richest countries in Asia. Stepping off the plane there did not feel like arriving in a South-East Asian country at all. From the state of the art airport to the skyscrapers and luxury hotels, everything in Singapore is shiny, new and clean. This incredibly well-organized city can … More Things to do in Singapore

So when I started this trip I thought that a month would easily be enough to see all of Vietnam. O boy was I wrong. The shape of Vietnam makes it really easy to hit all the highlights in a single trip going north to south or vice versa. But even with a 30 day visa I didn't get to see everything I wanted and had to rush through some places. The cold weather in the north certainly didn't help either ;) If I could do it again I would opt for a 3 month visa, buy a motorbike and tour the whole country. But alas, that will have to wait for another time. . Of course, I did get to see a lot of really cool places. So many in fact that it was hard to narrow it down to my usual 5 point format. Curious to know what made the list? Check out my newest blogpost here: https://wp.me/p9jczR-iL (link also in bio). . . . . #femaletravelblogger #girlswhotravel #travelwriter #digitalnomadgirls #travelgirls #travelwithme #travelguide #vietnam #placestovisit #travelbucketlist #bestplaces #travelvietnam #visitvietnam #beautifulplaces #backpackingasia #solofemaletravel #backpackinglife #vietnamitinerary #travelislife #traveltheworld #acrosstheglobe #southeastasia #wandertheworld #wanderlustasia #lostgirls #lanterns #hoianvietnam
One of my favorite things to do is walk around cities and just let myself get a little bit lost. That way you keep your eyes open and stumble upon the coolest things, instead of just going where you need to go. Like yesterday in Ho Chi Minh when I suddenly saw these awesome murals as I was looking for a place to eat lunch. They reminded me of the ones in George Town, Malaysia. So colourful and bright, they immediately put me in a better mood. . Do you like to stroll around cities or do you prefer to tick off the highlights? . . . . #letsgetlost #wanderlusty #strollingaround #hiddengems #murals #streetart #hcmc #saigon #hochiminh #vietnam #travelvietnam #vietnamtravel #solofemaletravel #backpackingasia #girlswhotravel #livetotravel #colorfulstreets #vietnamstreetart #streetsofvietnam #exploretheworld #wanderingwoman #gettinglost #traveldames #dutchtraveler #travelingthroughtheworld #travelwithoutaplan #globelletravels
I can't believe how time flies! I've been in Vietnam almost a month and have reached my final stop before crossing over into Cambodia: Ho Chi Minh. I started my trip at the start of January in Hanoi and traveled the whole length of the country. I was expecting Ho Chi Minh to be really busy, but because of Vietnamese New Year the city is actually quite calm. None of the usual crazy traffic, shops are closed and many streets empty. Luckily there is still plenty to see and do in this city of 10 million, like the Remnants of War Museum and the Saigon Post Office (pictured above) . Have you ever been to Ho Chi Minh? Which other sights should I definitely go see while I'm here? . . . . #hochiminh #saigon #hochiminhcity #hanoitohcm #vietnam #tetholiday #vietnamesenewyear #vietnamtravel #backpackingasia #vietnamtrip #timeflies #travelguide #explorevietnam #traveltips #saigonpostoffice #beautifularchitecture #colorfulvietnam #colorsofvietnam #traveltheworld #solofemaletraveler #beautifulplaces #travelernottourist #livetotravel #digitalnomad #travelingthroughtheworld
One of the great things about travel is that it allows me to experience new adventures and push myself out of my comfort zone. It's even the tagline of my blog: heading out of my comfort zone and into the world. . Ever since I met some people who did this last year I've been dreaming of riding a motorbike through Vietnam. And I'll be honest, after seeing the traffic in Hanoi I was more than a little scared. But I knew that I'd regret it forever if I passed this opportunity up. Instead of buying a bike and going the whole way to Ho Chi Minh, I opted to rent a bike for 10 dropping it off in Hoi An. . I am so glad I did as it was truly one of the coolest things I've ever done. You can read all about this epic adventure in my new blog post: https://wp.me/p9jczR-iP (link in bio) . . . . #motorbikevietnam #vietnamtravel #solofemaletravel #bikerchick #epicadventures #femaletravelblogger #digitalnomadlife #digitalnomadgirl #dutchtravelblogger #dutchtraveler #dutchtravelgirl #travelguide #travelwithme #exploretheworld #embraceadventure #motorbiketour #exploretheworld #adventuretravel #girlslovetravel #daregreatly #adventuregirl #conqueryourfears #bebrave
Even without the sun I still really enjoyed my trip to Cat Ba island. The island itself is beautiful and really laid back. I opted to do a boat tour here, to the less touristic part of Halong Bay. So I got to take in the stunning karst rocks and blue sea without all the party cruises around. I always recommend taking the less popular option, might have taken a day longer but it was so worth it! My favourite thing was sailing through the fishermens villages, colourful little floating houses in the sea. Such a cool sight! . What's your travel style? I've been a bit slow with posting pictures of my current trip to Vietnam. I've been here for 2 weeks but the grey skies made it hard to take good pictures. But due to the magic of editing you can enjoy the beauty of Vietnam as I'm seeing it, even with my crappy old iPhone camera ;) The weather has slowly been getting better, so there'll also be more pictures coming soon of blue skies and white sand beaches! ☀️☀️ . . . . . #iphonephotography #adobelightroom #editingmagic #photoediting #allthefilters #beautifulvietnam #travelvietnam #vietnamgram #ninhbinh #vietnam #temples #vietnamtravel #southeastasia #vietnamtemple #templehopping #backpackerlife #digitalnomadlife #badweather #escapewinter #winterescape
